Yea the title says it all.
Okay recently I updated my ATI drivers (the update is 7.9 and old one is 7.2 I think). For some reason my video card stopped working and every time it was required, the game/something else wouldn't work and it'd say that "3d something has failed".
Then I went back to the 7.2 something, and I could run the games fine again. Now steam is complaining about too old drivers, and when I update, it doesn't complain but it says that 3d something has failed bla bla *program ends*.
So what the fuck and ATI's customer service sucks hairy donkey balls that have semen on em. I had this problem with VIA motherboard and ATI 9600 card not working together, and all they could offer was "sorry we're working on it". 2 years later they had just removed that guiding text and went back to upgrading fucken x312414 series.
I got my 9800 PRO almost free when a friend of mine bought a serious powerhouse from Nvidia.
And yes I fucken used every possible uninstall tool to get rid of the old.
Edit: I did install everything that came with the ATI fucken package.
