Okay if you don't like ranting skip to the bottom ---->

I just started this thread because I'd just like to say that I liked Halo on PC. YES OMG WTF PC?

It had a cool story and nice mechanics with the sticky nade being awesome. And it was enough hard with the dumb save system and hardest level. It was fucken awesome shooting the flood, if you listened to heavy metal and played, it was pretty awesome. BANABANABANABANA DIEEEEE!

I liked Doom 3 on PC, it had a cool story and okay mechanics though with the gay closet faggots though. But you felt proud when you didn't load much saved games and just rumbled through the hole game with all the fucken hectic shit. Yea it felt like the original if you didn't use the saved games almost at all. It was pretty hard to do on hardest though (without saves), but well the last boss was a total disappointment.

Far Cry is the shittiest shit I've ever played. It hasn't even seen a hectic FPS. Yea this resembles real fighting more but in real life it's your life in the line so even fucken reading a book about lesbians slowly doing it would feel hectic in a battle. And I have no fucken clue who I am, I just know that I'm on an island and I have to shoot all the bad guys and camp all day long. I haven't played through it yet so it might have some wtfpwn story surprises.

And Planescape: Torment sucks ass compared to both BGs (just fucken end the discussion and shit fuck so I can try to kill you again because you suddenly attack me and I accidentally cast an AoE without knowing it was that because it just said that it deals a lot of damage to your enemies and shit). And BG 2 lacks in story, there's this dude who FUCKEN LEECHED your special powers and shit and you gotta get them back and shit man.

----> What hyped games do you hate? I personally liked Halo on PC and Doom 3, but I disliked Far Cry and Planescape: Torment. Baldur's Gate 2 didn't bring the same type of feeling of a unique story that the original BG had.

Diablo 2
I don't hate it, it is a good game, but I just dont see why do some people raise it on a pedestal. It's nothing of a RPG compared to BG2 for example. I guess they liked it because of bnet/multiplayer

Uhm...excuse me sir, Final Fantasy is win. Resistance is futile.

I think Fable is an obvious.

I think Fable is an obvious.Yea actually if you liked BG there's a pretty big chance that you liked FF because they're both similar games. You "are post to have your free will in both BGs", but in the end it's just like in FF. Travel around, do quests, kill the bad guy. And get some items in the process. You get to choose your party members. You get to choose their skills, except they have roles specified for them. You get a lot of discussion and you can choose what you answer but it won't actually change much in the main story. Yea BG 2 had a lot of spicing like deciding the fate of others and really being a band of adventurers.

And Fable was a goddamn shitty game, everything was crappy in that. I couldn't even make it more harder because it was so damn easy. It had fun sometimes because it resembled a good hack n slash but no it didn't even have good combat. Just time freeze + a few buffs and they're dead multiple times. It was a little fun to be a damn god though.

And I don't remember much about Diablo 2, I just remember having good laughs with max summon necro (totally gimped class in pvp, but in pve chaotic good times). And yea the main idea was to play the game through with your friends. But like with WoW players, I don't understand people who still play it.

They still haven't released a real roleplaying game where you can really be the fuck you want without 50% of the game being the main quest. The Elder Scrolls have come close though, but not quite yet.

Be easy on FarCry. It's developed by Germans. We Germans are known to make good ideas suck (Gothic 3, blimps filled with hydrogen, Nazism, etc.)

What you mean "not quite yet"? The Elder Scrolls just got worse and worse with every game, especially with that free-roaming aspect you're talking about. Daggerfall still was the best.

And I did play Daggerfall long ago but I've never tried Morrowind. Is Morrowind worth a try, it looks like pretty barren PvE fest of pixels to me now.

Why can't they just create a good game with all the possible things in it? It would take while yea? And I'm a little suspicious about niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger, they promise much but have nothing to show. If beta comes this year and it's all that we've hoped for, then fuck yea I'll chop my balls of and declare myself the eunuch of the century.

I already stated this in another thread: Morrowind is cool if you are someone who enjoys reading fantasy literature. What was outstanding in Morrowind was: "freedom", story, dialogs, atmosphere and graphics. The latter one is pretty outdated by now, though. And from todays point of view the low distance view is pretty lame and somewhat hinders the atmosphere.

All other parts of the game, those which I didn't mention, suck pretty hard. Especially combat, but also the way most skills work in the game. Boring dice rolls, always, everywhere.
Those things which really sucked in Morrowind were done very nicely Oblivion, but those things which were great in Morrowind are those things which Oblivion lacked (No, I don't like Oblivion's looks or athmosphere, it's pretty lame in my opinion).

Yeah I have Oblivion fully modded and it's still as boring as hell after 30+ played hours.

Telvani quest in Morrowind for the win, also the ones for the Temple were pretty good but you had to do them before you went on the relions hit list or after all the shit was over.

There were some kick ass mods to, basically if they added a whole island it had a 70% chance of being really good.

Daggerfall is still teh best but is a bitch to get to run on modern systems for some reason.

And Oblivion is the reason that I am going to Pirate Fallout when they release it.

Do I suck because I liked Oblivion?

Obviously there was a lot wrong with it...THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE SPEARS WHAT THE FUCK?!

But still, I found it enjoyable.

The lack of spears really bothered me, too. Anyone know what was up with that?

Diablo 2, I second that, only I really don't like it at all.
Also, Warcraft 3 and WoW, but the last one's pretty much a given on these forums.

I must, however, protest against the notion that BG2's story is lacking.
It isn't quite as original as BG1, but it's not a bad story, and during the course of the game the twists and turns it takes you on...I love that game.
I think it's the best RPG of all time, and it's right there on the top of my favourite games together with norweigan made "The longest Journey"

Yeah, and the sequel is like, horrible.
It made me gag.

I'm very careful with downloading or buying games but Ground Control 2 was no way near as good as I had hoped and the multiplayer was unbalanced shit.

It's been kinda boring moments now, pretty much no cool enemies or mages casting shit. It has just been stupid riddles for a few hours.

I read from the bad guy's diary that he has leeched my powers so that he can live longer and take over some elven place. At this moment this story twist seems just retarded. I hope it get's like that he's my son who can't live without my special peenor milk or something.

Fable for me. Obvious reasons... if you followed it for the 5 fucking years it was in development. Supposed to be this amazing game, turned out to be a fucking POS.

And the other was Gears of War. Wasn't all that great.. people raved and raved about it, but sorry, I didn't feel attached to the main character. The only person I felt attached to was Coal Train... he was just plane awesome.

EDIT: Oh, and all you FF freaks out there... *cough* FFX, FFX-2 *cough*. Yeah, you don't want to admit they exist, but they're there, right in front of your face. Feel ashamed... feel it deep down!

I dunno I've played multiplayer only with other people but never online for halo so I can't really say whether or not I hate the game. However, I do despise the fans because they are a bunch of dumb tards that cant get over a simple FPS game so they have to buy the coolz merchandise like the halo helmet lolz.

I also despise Final Fantasy and the whole fanbase because the games and the fans suck.

I agree with Scotw1t about Oblivion. I quite enjoyed it but it got tired after a few weeks. I don't know if I only enjoyed it because that and Resistance are the only games I have for my PS3. I thought Fable 2 looks like it's going to be good but I didn't know how bad Fable was, anyone think Fable 2 will be any better?

I haven't actually played STALKER but I was in the community for more than a year and that game would have OWNED if those ruskies just had had the fervor or skills to realize their dream.
