View Full Version : The Beggartown Guildhouse

The Guildhouse design is complete! Now, we need to have the talk. The security talk. Please make it a habit that you use "detect hidden" after any time the front door is opened. People are incredibly dedicated to burgling houses (http://forum.uosecondage.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=12633) on this shard, and we've had several attempts made already. Even if you have zero skill, it will never fail to reveal in a house you are friended to.
If you are opening a locked door, be very thorough in how you go about doing it. First, stand directly in front of the door, use the locked down key to unlock it, open the door, then use the key to lock it again. Then, take two steps into the door and close it behind you. When you leave the room, the door will lock itself behind you, just make sure you close it as you leave.
If you see any suspicious/aggressive strangers, use "I ban thee" to kick them out of the house and ban all the players on their account. Remember that each player can have 3 accounts, so you may not be rid of them the first time around.
Avoid marking runes directly here, unless you keep them in a secured container.

First Floor
The South room, or The Drunkery, is open to the public. Friendly or curious strangers are welcome here and may help themselves to our free booze (found in the keg on the bar) and loose women. Runebooks are available to Cities/Dungeons. There is a secure crate behind the bar, which I'm going to use as my personal stash, so stay the fuck away from it!
The North room, or The DANGER Room, is low to medium security. It should be left unlocked, unless you wish to AFK macro safely or whatever. The key is located on the rune shelf in the South Room. Use this room for training and buggering young lads in private. There is a small forge set up on the Southeast corner and training dummies North of that. You will find 2 secured crates on the North wall, which are designated for general guild use and a third one by the forge for niggerniggerniggerniggerniggersmithing/tinkering/carpentry.
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x145/drunkenbeggarclan/house2.jpg
Second Floor
The South room, or The Kitchen or Brilliant's New Home, is low security. It is equipped with an oven, water trough, loom and spinning wheel. There is a secured crate in the Southwest corner for Cooking/Tailoring/Alchemy/Inscription.
The North room, or Morgan's Chamber of Arcane Carnal Pleasures and Gold, is MAXIMUM SECURITY. Do not fucking go in there!!! Anyone showing too much interest in this room will be killed on site! The door is to be locked at all times, as it will be our storage area for locked down crates. Locked down items can be stolen from, and the containers in here will contain the lion's share of our treasure hoard. The only exception to this is if you need impromptu storage for large amounts of valuable items, such as spoils from an IDOC, in which case you should take every security precaution possible. We may also need to have magic items ID'd in which characters with identify will get special access.

Too much paranoia IMO
Set 'remove thyself' or 'i ban thee' to a key combo for speed of use.

Nah, you can use the house for some stuff. If you forget to lock the downstairs back room it will just result in the macroers getting killed. Which isn't that big of a deal.

200K+ for hay?
FUCKING HAY RED!
ITS FUCKING HAY!
IT DOES NOT EVEN LOOK GOOD!
You should have brought everyone a house and charged them rent and set them as co-owners. RPing a repo man to come take some of there stuff would have been amusing.
Fucking hay.... That could have gone towards my tower fund.

i'm macroing up my stealing in the south room right now because i don't have permission to use the key to get to the north room and bugger my packhorse. or so the system message tells me. i'm poor as hell, at any rate, and can't afford more empty bottles, so if someone wants to loan me some i will be most grateful. when i join the thieves guild and proceed to pulling off heists, you will all be remembered.
also, while in Britain, near the bank, someone named the Good Toiny, or Honorable Toiny or something like that, started to attack me and my pack horse for no good reason. after a quick "lol, wtf" i called the guards on his ass, who lightning bolted him into oblivion. i was rewarded with an orc helm, some bone leggings, and a magic butcher knife that raises my tactics by 15 or so points, and a magic kite shield. not too bad for just wandering around.
am i to assume he was just a random crazy, or have we started to make enemies as a guild already?
ciao.

How long do bodies hang around after someone has been killed? Can you lock them down in a home like objects. In which case I'd be happy to make a DNS once I have a house. Can fill it up with all kinds of niggerniggerniggerniggernigger bodies if they stick around long enough. ;) If we have to continually refresh the bodies, then fuck that.
I guess it could be a bunch of body parts instead, but that doesn't quite do it right.

Red - The weapons and armor upstairs are now arranged in a manageable way. The GM weapons and armor are in the top couple crates in the crate stack on the west side of the high security room. The magic weapons, armor, and clothing are all now located in the two shipwreck chests in the northeast corner of the high security room.
Just makin' sure you don't think someone robbed us when you go upstairs to poke around.

I would like to add that an army made up of Golden Dragons plus Elven Archers pwns all, especially when you add Dendroid Soldiers on defensive stance to soak up all the damage.
Also, someone fucking friend my chars to that guild house already and loan me some regs (or money for regs) so I can complete stage 1 of my project to open a Mosque in beggar town.

Don't you both have to be online at the same time to get friended? I seem to recall him bitching about people moving round the screen when he was trying to click on them.
There's nothing else for it Villa, you need to come on vent more often to catch him.

Can you build a mosque in UO?
Can you build a mosque in UO?
Since mosques don't need to have a certain shape and an altar is not a necessity I'd say yes, yes you can. Just lay down a few carpets or something for people to kneel and bow on and tell everyone to remove their shoes before they enter or you suicide-bomb them. Something to give the believers a direction to where is Mekka would also be helpful.
You could also try to build some sort of improvised minaret for the muezzin.
