it lets you drag shit into the fitting thing so you can see the ship as if you were actually fitting it

the easiest way to do all this is to go to battleclinic and find one you like, then put it into evemon, and then modify it, playing around with all the different things you can put on it.

With EFT you can also simulate cap usage so you can see if the great fit that you've just worked out will actually only last for 10 seconds and you'd end up in a smoldering heap because your cap failed.
