Guide: Mining if you don't have a transport available

If you want to mine and you don't have a transport ship available to you, but you do have a friend with an awesome ship, tell him to outfit it tractor beams. That was, when the Ninja's come in to steal your precious ore, your buddy can prevent that ninja from not only warping, but essentially going anywhere. Screw warp scramblers, get a tractor beam :D

fyi: this happened to me, I lol'd. Its just one of those situations where you are a like "damn, he out smarted my dumb ass"

i think they work related to mass somehow, i forget though and rarely used them.

I was in a badger, so it wasn't a massive ship, but I would expect him to have had the larger of the tractor beams. However, he was in an assault frigate though.

No that didn't happen... tractor beams can only be used on wrecks and cargo containers, what happened is he warp scrambled and webbed you, which decreases your speed by up to 60%... if you were going slower than that he probably used multiple webs

what kind of ship was he in? most miners would be drained in around 1 second with 2 webs and a scram. it had to be something else...

he was in an assault frig, could prolly run 2 webs and a scram forever... he just wouldn't have 2 webs on an AS but can't really have been anything else, those are the only modules affecting propulsion i know of (except for the hid scram and bubbles)...

2 webs and a disruptor would take like 7-8 cap/sec which is not more than anyone can handle for a short while
