The only reason to do it in this order is so that you can use the 5% benefit from both skills before the "long" lvl 5 train.

Meh, I don't really mind it. I got bogged down with work for the past week and haven't really fallen behind, unlike in niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger when I went to Daytona Beach for Spring Break and came back to be so hopelessly far behind in skills I couldn't hope to catch up. It's kind of ironic the MMO that's closest to real life is also the one that gives you the most opportunity to have a real life and stay competitive.

Well, I finally got to level 2 missions. Wasn't that hard. Fucken thing is, I can't do them. Level 1 missions are so damn easy and give hardly any loot... Level 2 guys rape my sheilds and armor in seconds...
I am in a destroyer too... Sucks, I have to wait a day or two to play again... Should have cruiser today, and assault frigate by the end of the week. Hopefully I will be able to handle level 2's in a cruiser.

Yes, already started working on it. All three will be at level 4 and one working on level 5 by the time I get home. To get to level 5 though is almost 2 days each. At level 4 frigate I can train cruiser, I figured 2 hours to get that to level 2 to get a decent cruiser to do level 2 missions. So will probably have Assualt done by the end of the week.
Only problem is, I don't have many other skills so can't use to many different types of boosters and shit or weapons. Still stuck using 200M AC I. don't have the skill for 200M AC II, and 200M AC scouts are kinda high in cash. That was why I was hoping Cruisers would give me just enoug to handle level 2 missions. You make crap on level 1 missions....

assault by the end of the week? great to hear. you can do most lvl 2 missions with a jaguar pretty easily.
the main purpose of an assault frig isn't necessarily for the weapons, but the resistances. what hits rifters for 50, hits a jaguar for 5-10.
those gunnery skills will come very quickly after assault frigs.

My level 4s are training. I believe Engi IV is done, Mech IV should be done this afternoon and Frig IV following. Then the Vs will start. I've got a bit before Lvl 2 missions so no biggy I guess, haven't played a lot as I figure I'll get bored if I do. :P Still have 13 free days left so....

I take that back... frigate 5 is over 5 days.... So.. Maybe middle/end of next week... DAMN IT!!!
O well, cruiser 3 only takes about 10 hours... so I slipped that in there... This way I can make some money on level 2 missions and get some decent implants....

If those are it for your learning skills, you're missing the perception and will stat boosts, which Frig is based on.

I have all the level 1's to 4 and the level 2 to 3's for the learning skill.
+1 implants on all traits. Also redid my points. Took everything out of charisma and made the rest even.

yea, that's a big step, too. there are sooo many things to train after you get assault frigs, you'll be buying/training skills constantly.
my advice is to get good at all the tier 1 stuff before trying to get tier 2 mods.
you can get another 15% to your resist bonuses from a 24 hour skill queue. you can get all of those gunnery skills to lvl 3 in like a day and a half.

depends on what you're using. you'll want to get them all to lvl 3 before you try to specialize into the tech 2 modules.
V. Turret Skills
A large number of skills affect the performance and statistics of turret-based weapons, all of them in the "Gunnery" skill sub-group. The base skill for all turret-based weapons is the Gunnery skill itself, which gives a 2% bonus to all turret rate of fire (refire) per level.
Base Turret Skills
There are twelve base turret skills in EVE, with four per turret type; small, medium, large and extra large. These weapons are intended for frigates, cruisers, battleships and capital ships, respectively, although you can always "downsize" your weapons. That is, there is nothing stopping a battleship from fitting a frigate-sized turret.
All base turret skills give a 5% damage bonus per level to their respective type. The Medium Hybrid Turret skill gives 5% damage bonus per level when using either medium-sized railguns or blasters, and so forth.
Turret Performance Skills
There are six turret performance skills in EVE that affect the base characteristics of all turrets. These are:
Controlled Bursts - 5% reduction in turret capacitor use per level
Motion Prediction - 5% increase in turret tracking per level
Rapid Firing - 4% bonus to turret rate of fire per level
Sharpshooter - 5% bonus to turret optimal range per level
Surgical Strike - 3% bonus to turret damage per level
Trajectory Analysis - 5% bonus to turret falloff per level
Turret Auxiliary Skills
There are two Auxiliary skills that affect the fitting requirements of both turrets and missile launchers, called Weapon Upgrades and Advanced Weapon Upgrades, that affect the CPU and Powergrid use of turrets, respectively.
Weapon Upgrades reduce the CPU requirements of a turret by 5% per level. This can be extremely useful, as turrets tend to be rather CPU-intensive.
Advanced Weapon Upgrades reduce the Powergrid requirements of a turret by 2% per level. This is an advanced skill, has a high training multiplier and requires lvl 5 in Weapon Upgrades before training.
Turret Specialization Skills
There are eighteen Specialization skills in EVE, two per turret type (Medium Hybrid Turrets split into Medium Blaster Specialization and Medium Railgun Specialization). These are prerequisites for the use of tech 2 turrets, and all of them require lvl 5 in their parent weapon skill. Note that there are no Capital Turret specialization skills.
All Specialization skills grant a 2% bonus to damage per level to their respective tech 2 turret types (Medium Railgun Specialization grants a damage bonus only to tech 2 medium railguns, such as the 250mm Railgun II).

Good news is, Teir 1 stat skills are based on Int/Mem so they'll go up faster. ;)

finishing up lvl 4 eng today. After that i move on to lvl 5 for mech/eng/frig
after that tho.. i have no idea where to go :p
