I sent this in game, posted here for discussion.



It's time to start giving roles within the corp.

There are 4 divisions:

PVP
Mining
Trade
Production

Everyone has been set to a regular member title right now. Should give you access to the Petty cash hangar and petty cash wallet.

If you know what roles you'd like to play in this corp, please send me an email here (Fiat Sophia) so I can assign roles.

There are three different levels as well: Member of a division, Manager, and Director. There will be 1 director with managers that they pick. Each has varying access to the other hangars/wallets.

as a side note, there aren't that many differences between a manager and member besides hangar access right now. i'm working on other roles (fitting management, recruitment, etc) for the managers.

I'm T for Trucker. Also trade. But trade and trucking aren't even valuable unless you're reselling billion isk items so I might be in production/hauling as opposed to hauling/trading very soon. Really, a 20 jump run could net you 800-1 mil isk whereas a 10 minute scan and run with moose gives you 4 mil

all the same the game isn't very fun at all without the PVP/grief/runnin' so I don't intend to do any of the linear buy'n sell nonsense forever

PvP for me as well. Won't be ready for it for a while... been training non-stop and only have over 300K skill points... Finally got all +1 implants, that should help a little, but I need a bunch of Moose runs so I can get 50M and get all the +3.

Also, by tomorrow I will be ready for the level 2 learning books, so it will still be another week or so before I can even learn some damn PvP skills.

I have just enough skill to fly my destroyer and use light autocannons 200M M1 not even M2 and that is about it.... So just enogh to do missions or salvage runs with Moose

Edit: I guess another question is, with our low level guys and crappy skills are we even going to be able to PvP, or do low sec mining runs?

don't grind anything you don't find fun, it's pointless. that probably means that with the skills you have, there aren't too many things available to you for grinding. please realize that in 3-4 weeks, you'll have more than you could ever hope for.

if we make it past the month of puberty, we'll be just fine. you'll have more things that you enjoy grinding than you could wish for once you get past this month. i have confidence that many of us will stay past this month, and those that don't will wish they had.

this game is completely different than any other MMO. it starts slow and ramps up quickly, as opposed to niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger, where the only thing that kept us in was the novelty of the whole thing, which didn't even really exist. people may quit eve for the momentary satisfaction that MO will bring (and it will be fleeting), but again, they'll regret blowing that 50 bucks just like they regretted the 50 bucks on niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger.

CCP has tried several things in the past to get people past this month, but it comes down to an understanding of the game that you just can't impart by starting people off with a million SP. this first month is so much more about personal skill than character progression, and the problem is that you don't really realize that until you have it. it's the "inside looking out, you can't explain it, outside looking in, you can't understand it" philosophy.

after you get past the first 3 or 4 "long trains" you have a bunch of things that are day long trains, each day your guy is growing leaps and bounds better. it moves very quickly at that point.

He's right. At least from my perspective. This is my first time playing with a corp, but I have like 4.3 mil skill point (not a lot), but enough to be able to do a few things decently well and it's a lot better than early game.

this is how i got through it. playing for 2-3 weeks, then quitting, played with shit corps, learned the hard way. it was muchhhhhh more brutal than anything i'm trying to do here. i eventually got the skills i needed and BOOM, it all clicked, it all came together.

the 45 days training for enantium to get that orca seems like nothing to me. i'm like 15 away now, and i've been having fun the whole time.

just as a funny side note, 7-8 day trains are "quick." it's those 45 day trains that are a bitch.

I like the fact that EVE is a little laid back. And I'm personally excited to start PVP and bounty missions... And flying into the deep abyss with stalwart through wormholes.

It seems so fucking cool.

It most certainly is NOT a grind, unless perhaps you are mining or something - but even then, that's out of a personal preference to gather.

As long as I never have to run violet hold or ToC:H ever again... I will stick with eve.

edit: I was wrong. For the skill "Assault Ships" you don't need Frigate 5. To actually fly the plane, you do need it. Sorry.

when we move to x-7, you'll want to go around in different systems setting down a ton of bookmarks at all the POSs, so you'll use the structures for that.

but you'll want the ships.
