I'll be adding common terminology here. People are saying, "I don't understand what ya'll are talking about." Hopefully this will help.

"Bottom station" "Top asteroid belt" etc. When they give you either a planet, asteroid belt, or station and either a "top" or "bottom" or "3rd" they are referring to when you are floating in space and right click. You select either station/belt/planet, and are presented with a list of those. The top/bottom/3rd/7th is what they are referring to. NOT the overview. A lot of people don't have stations, gates, etc, on their overview, and the order changes depending on how you sort that list (usually distance).

"Tack" or "Tac" or "Taq" This is in reference to a hyphen. We're going to "EC tac" means the EC- system. I don't know where this came from, but a lot of people use it.

"Point" This is in reference to a warp DISRUPTER. When we pvp, everyone will need to put a "point" on their ship. This is so those bastards can't get away. Not a warp scrambler, those are short range but have the added benefit of screwing up MWDs as well. To be really clear, this isn't referring to a stasis generator (webifier) either.

"MWD" Microwarpdrive. Increases speed more than ABs (afterburners), but uses more capacitor and also increases your signal strength... meaning they can lock on and track your ship much more easily. Bad for tackling.

"Cap" Usually in reference to your capacitor. Can also be used as "cap ship" as in "capitol ship."

Autopilot -

Finding Torrinos: Go to the map button on the left. A menu should pop up on top of the map. Go to search. Put in Torrinos. Right click Torrinos (it's in the Lonetrek region). Set destination.

A series of dots should appear in the top left. When you exit the station (you won't be coming back, so sell/destroy your stuff there), now, in your overview, you should see the normal stuff you did before, but now, one of the jump gates will be yellow. That jump gate will correspond with "The next system" on the top left. Left click the yellow gate in the menu, now right above that, in the "selected item menu" you'll see a series of icons. click "warp to" warp to it. When you "land," next to that warp to button was a "jump" button. jump through and repeat till you get to torrinos.

this is active piloting. once you set the destination and leave the station, you can "autopilot" there if you click the little A at the bottom of the screen, but it warps you to 15k away from the jump gate and you have to slow boat it through that. much slower way to do it, but you don't have to be on top of your computer to do it. definitely don't do this in <0.5 space.

Finding Society of the Anvil in game:

Next time you are in station, open a tab on the left called: "People and Places" Once you have that open, there's a drop down menu. Select "Corporation"

Put "Society of the Anvil" in there. Right click the thing that pops up (make sure it's society of the anvil). Select "Show info"

Another menu will pop up. Select "join corporation" at the bottom of it. type something into the app (random letters is fine) and i'll approve it later.

Accessing the corp hanger -

As in the other thread, there is a corp hanger that everyone should have access to now. It's called "petty cash" Matriel is filling it with stuffs to use as a newbie.

It's in the bottom station in torrinos. In the bottom right, you'll see "Corp Hangar" It's on the same window as the market, repair shop, all that shit. If you don't see it, make sure you can see that whole window (aka, if you are windowed, you may not be able to see it).

Accessing the corp wallet -

I've also given people access to the corp wallet. You can open up your wallet, then there should be a Corporation wallet tab. I'll try to keep around 10 mil in there. If you want to donate, do it to that. Use this for ammo/mods. Not skill books or ships.

Fleet -

There's a fleet tab on the left. You can start a fleet most easily by right clicking someone and selecting "form fleet with." Now in your fleet tab on the left, you'll find a couple new options. You can set it to autojoin there by going to "My Adverts" and advertising it to the corp. When you do that, click "find fleets" Yours should pop up. Drag that into a chat window so all people have to do is click that to join.

Feel free to add your own information too.

Moving as a fleet

When working together as a blob, its always better to depart and arrive at places as one unit. There is an 'align to' function when choosing to 'warp to' a location. Right click somewhere in space, move your cursor to where you want to go then underneth 'warp to' you'll find 'align to'

Before warping anywhere, all pilots should align to their next destination. This will align your ship and power up your engine to full power. You can then reduce your speed to a lower setting so you're not moving away from the pack too fast. Once everyone is aligned, the fleet commander can choose to warp the entire fleet at the same time.

This method of movement is important because larger ships can take a really long time to allign to their next warp destination yet once aligned, everyone enters warp at roughly the same time. Failing to use this can render quicker (and less hardier) ships to arrive too early, which leads to quick and painful deaths and can leave the larger ships open to attack at the back without support.

that works.

however, i'll expand on fleet ops as a group. best done when shown. getting used to following the fleet commander (FC) is the best way to do it. sometimes you don't always want the fleet to align, sometimes you want a "soft align" (meaning pointed towards it, not moving).

Maybe the navy? I was watching NCIS with my mom while I was at my parents house over the break, and they replaced the dashes used to reference a certain area of the ship with "tack"s.

It's from the military. You use it in radio speak as it's something easier to understand with static.

Yeah, sailors never heard of a hyphen but know a tack when they see one. I wonder if Eve ships use the same designations for spaces.
