If you read what Matt says they still havent released or finalized how house building will work. It sounds to me like he really would like you to be able to build a house anywhere but it might not be practically possible. I am expecting something in the middle such as being able to build your house anywhere within (large) specified building areas.

I would actually prefer if they dotted the land scape with places that could have homes or mansions built on them. Like you said, large areas that would be set up for communities or isolated places like small cove harbors and mountain retreats.
Tho I would also want restrictions on getting them and sustaining them besides the typical findingit/payingforit methods.

From MO-Radio, there was an interview with Henrik, one of the developers. Apparently, he was asked questions about the house/village system, and he said some intresting stuff.

Q: Do you have any details on siege weapons?
A: Yeah, the usual catapaults, and I'm not sure the names, but the common ones you've seen. [unintelligible]...the siege system is not yet in place, so you will not be able to play it at launch.LoL's at the edit.
Q: Is there a party-user interface that allows you to distinguish friendlies from enemies?
A: Yeah, you can group up with players and you will be able to keep track of them. Same thing with starting a guild, of course. (You will be able to identify your guild mates and group mates from other people, not necessarily enemies?) Yes.
[Something about a Swedish Star Vault slave track] *music* *flatulance noises*
Q: Have you actually looked into the MO-Radio website forum for the MO-Radio thread for the MO forums? [wut...]
A: Um, no, but I've checked out the website at least.
[Long stint about how MO-Radio was mistaken as Morado when it was written without the hyphen on the forums. Someone mentioned it sounded like a beer and made an image of Morado beer.]
Q: Will Morado be an in-game alcohol?
A: Yeah, it sounds like a good name for a beer. Yeah, who knows, maybe.
[Discussion on actually realizing the Morado beer dream with a microbrewery]
Q: The lifetime subscription for MO on ebay, when did you get that idea?
A: About a week ago, I had the idea to put it on ebay so anyone could have the opportunity, and it would be a fun event for everyone to follow.

That was a good read. This game makes me jizz. It better not let me down; I intend to use it as fapping material for years to come.
