A Vanguard Thread

Surly told me to come to the forums and sign up for vanguard. are you guys roleplaying ingame? i'm not really into that. and you don't rp on ventirlo do you!?
anyway i'm making a character on varking tomorrow and i need access to the member forum if you're still taking people for it.

does anyone know what the pvp is like on varking? i guess it's mostly a game like wow but i hope its at least a little fun. who do i message in game to get into the guild? what level is everyone already? do you have any crafters? how many people are in the guild? what if i start on another continent?

I'll do my best to answer your Q's, but the guys will probably be able to do better.

I haven't seen anyone RP in game yet, but then again I just started on Vanguard. The SotA has a really strong backstory, though, you can check it out at AnvilSociety.com (http://www.anvilsociety.com/).

I don't think I've ever heard of people RPing in Vent.

Only the higher-ups can grant you access to the main forums.

Varking is faction-based PvP with 15%(?) coin loot, so long as you aren't killing someone really far below your level, then you get no coins. The game itself is very similar to WoW, like WoW 1.5, or more accurately, EQ3. Its a grind, unfortunately. We're making the best of it.

If Surly isn't on, you can message Monte, and I am pretty sure Max can invite too. It looks like most of the guild is level 10+ right now.

Not sure on the crafting situation right now, but I know its a big emphasis for us.

As for guild numbers, there are over 50 Anvil Society, but a lot of them may not be joining us in Vanguard.

You can start on any continent, so long as you pick one of the races that are on our "faction" according to the game, which are:

Dwarf
Thestran Human
High Elf
Halfling

Qaliathari Human
Mordebi Human
Gnome

Kojani Human
Raki
Wood Elf
Half Elf

So far I think most of the people are Thestran Human and Dwarf, but I'm not totally sure. Only tough thing about starting on a different continent than Thestra is having people to run with at a low level, but I think there are at least a couple Anvil Society on Qualia. Not sure about Kojan.


There is hardly any posts in here because this is a new forum. Our old forums were archived here (http://www.anvilsociety.com/forums/archive.php) a little less than 2 weeks ago. Plus most of the members post in the member forums. :)

No we don’t enforce RP, but we don’t discourage it ether. When you make a character in game contact Surly,Savant, Max, Rkehh or myself (monte) . Any of us can guild you. The reseaon the place looks a little empty is that we (or Surly)just changed our forums and most of our posts have been archived at www.anvilsociety.com/forums/archive.php (http://www.anvilsociety.com/forums/archive.php).

Shamans and Clerics are currently the two overpowered classes in the game. We could use either of those, or a bard.
