I wish I had FRAPS running last night for our attack on the Orks R Us city, because I'd rather show this than describe it, but I didn't, so oh well.
My story starts at the call for retreat that I'm assuming happened but didn't hear because of the volume of niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger's combat. I did, however, notice that my group was running south out of the city, so I popped my last fishy and followed suit. I was roughly 3/4 health at this time and 1/4 stamina.
As I was following the group, running towards the southern cliff of the city, I ran out of stamina, and began to be pelted with arrows. Enemies were on all sides of me, and I thought about how I was going to die with some of my best gear on. Somehow I made it to the cliff with marginal stamina and 1/4 health.
As I dropped down the cliff, I had the idea of hugging the cliff, since when you jump, you land about 10ft away from the cliff. So I hit the water and dove under immediately, and noticed people that jumped into the water after me looking around. I saw an overhang in the cliff just a little east of me, so I decided to make a move towards it because I could hear people shooting arrows and mana missiles from the top of the cliff. So I made it to the overhang just as I ran out of breath. Then I noticed a spot in the cliff that juts north, allowing a little corner for me to rest up in that shielded my position from the enemies.
While I was there, an enemy dwarf swam right past me without noticing. This was also when I reported being separated from the group, and Red told my that I was on my own (understandable). Once I had enough stamina to swim underwater towards the little pissant bridge they have, I swam to it, and found shelter on the northern shore of it to regain more stamina. After I did, I made my way to the mainland, found a rock to hide behind, and recalled.
I love niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger's mechanics, and how it allowed me to pull of this escape. I wouldn't have been able to do it if I was targetted or if I had a neon sign over me telling the world my name and clan affiliation. Also, having a limited view on your surroundings no doubt allowed me to evade a dwarf that could have easily thwarted my survival.
