Little confused

So this site hosts 3 guilds, Anvil, Thelema and DBC right? Cidius told me to check DBC out a while back, but at the time I was with another guild. They lost all their members over repeated emo shit and finally I left when I realized 3 out of the 4 of the remaining members were dedicated racists (the leader was an unemployed guy who spent his time in a white supremacy group so...)

So yeah, I'm a little apprehensive because I saw that one post about racism and I'm wondering: does this guild endorse racism, tolerate it, or oppose it? I was interested in joining but I don't want a repeat of arguments over racism and enmity in the guild over racism.

I hate to start things off on an unpleasant note like that but it's important guild policy to me.

You'd have to ask Red Morgan how he runs his sub-forum, but the overlying rules of the main forum and guild do not prohibit the expression of racist remarks. We just ask that people don't discuss "religion and politics" at length, and racism definitely falls under that category if some one takes it seriously (or expresses real racism). You'll find almost 100% of this kind of thing in Thelema's sub-forum though, which is rather appropriate given the meaning of "thelema" itself. I can assure you though that any worries you might have about a group of racists popping up are laughable, any of the racism you're referring to was most certainly in the nature of jest.

Anyway, it's not our job to judge people, and we don't police thought crimes around here. We only censor things that are truly disruptive. We're (mostly) mature people, so I am not comfortable telling others how to think... but how they behave is entirely a different story! So the short answer is that the guild itself is indifferent to all things political regardless of their nature. It tolerates any point of view, any opinion, and any way of life. It does not tolerate anything that is disruptive to the harmony of the guild.

That said, the overwhelming majority of the guild members are opposed to racism, and that no one here actually endorses it... but that has nothing to do with guild policy. The guild as an entity is a blind, single-minded institution with only the goal of its continued success. Still though, for the Beggar Clan, Red Morgan sets his own rules for this particular section of the forum.

Hi Kailas,
Surly was pretty much spot on. The DBC is totally independent of the things you see going on in Thelema, as we are seperate guilds under the SotA banner. I'm sure anyone here will tell you that I'm a total bleeding heart liberal, so I'm probably the one you have to worry least about when it comes to racism. At the same time, I'm not much of one for political correctness, so I'm not going to go around and tell someone what they should or shouldn't say. That is unless it's one of my members and what they're saying damages the reputation of the guild.

The image we shoot for is that we're pretty whacky and have a lot of fun, but at the same time we can get down to business and kick ass. That doesn't mean I want a bunch of bigots running around making racist remarks.

In closing, please for love of the gods, don't confuse us with Thelema. I'm pretty sure being too close to their guild somehow spreads AIDs through the internet. How? I don't know, it will boggle the minds of scientists for decades.

Since Red Morgan attacked us so openly in his last post I feel like Im obliged to reply on the behalf of our subguild, Thelema.

First of all Thelema has been around for a while now and whats mutual to all Thelemites or atleast the ones who were with us through UDF and the Al-Gebra days, is the sense of humour. Some view it as being extremely racist, but those people are the ones who allow it to be funny to us. So I guess I should like thank you Kailea for making it worthwhile.

As far as being able to kick ass ingame goes, it has squat to do with how people act on a forum Red. I dont care what your magic 8-ball is saying, but all this forum rambling doesnt mean shit. Whippiewhoopidoo

Thanks for the offer but I already hold an officer position in Scary Bad Guys, a guild I've been with for quite some time now. We will be playing this game as a clan (my guild leader is the reason I know about niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger in the first place.)

Again, no offence to you guys, if you like my usual posts chances are you're a very PvP oriented, tearless clan, and I consider small numbers a plus. I'm just very loyal to my current guild.
