So today I basically learned how to beg, the hard way. When I was heading towards the metro station once I reached the area where you buy fare tickets. I punched in the price of the fare, which is 4.50 for me. I then pulled out my wallet and began to freak out since I didn't have my debit card...I noticed some change jingling and then I checked to see if I had enough. I only had 1.07 in change!

So, there I was, stuck there and I had to get to class in two hours. I started asking random people if they could spare some change. I didn't want to go up to anyone and be like, "Hey, I need three bucks!" So a few people gave me quarters. The funny thing was the person was kind of repulsed by the fact that I was asking for money. He was the business suit type that always rushes at the last second to get to his destination.

However, I then saw a pair of black girls come and I tried my best to look pathetic. I already felt vulnerable anyways so this was easy. The funny thing was during my interactions with them I was nervous and I ended up getting like two bucks from them.

Then I noticed this one guy behind me, he seemed kind of abrasive, but I tried anyways. The best part was he kinda looked at me for a second after I said, "Hi, uh...do you by any chance have any change? I left my money at home.." However, he then reached in his pocket and just handed me a $5.00 metrochek and just walked away. That was a weird, wtf moment.

I then noticed I made profit from begging, lawl. Should I be promoted?

No wonder people make careers from begging and shit. I mean I've never asked for money before, I didn't know that people are so willing to just hand money to someone like that.

Well thats the problem I mean its a lot easier to beg for money if you don't look like you're homeless. People actually believe you'll use it for transit fare instead of crack or alcohol.

I think there is even a hierarchy among bums of who has it easiest to make money. I mean if you lost a leg in the war, are humorously mentally handicapped or have some sort of skill to market like playing the recorder or something you're more likely to make money than the person who reeks of his own urine and is to weak to even hold up his poorly conceived panhandling sign.

Meh, in my opinion if you are willing to give money, you shouldn't care about how the person uses that money since it's their choice. In the end it's their fault if they use it to further put themselves in a hole.
