Couple of questions.

1. If you get a PSU with shitloads more power than you need, does it suck tons of electricity regardless of how much it actually needs to power your components?

2. Does anyone know if this PSU is any good?

3. I wouldn't be able to test it, as I haven't bought the other components for my new comp yet. I'd just be buying this piece b/c it has so much knocked off the price (if it's worth the original 250 that is). If it was DOA, would there be a way for me to find that out without having a comp set up to hook it to (I probably won't have all my components for ~30 days yet)?

1. No.

2. Among the best.

3. It is accurately priced. This PSU is never $250, that's a load of horseshit. It sells for anywhere from $110-$140. Also, I've sold over 300 of these and not one has been DOA. If they have DOA power supplies, it is very rare I guess. There is no accurate way to test if the PSU is DOA without attempting to use it to post a computer. Voltage testers will only check to see if the PSU is spewing accurate voltage levels. Your best bet is to find a motherboard/cpu/ram that you can plug into and see if it turns on.

Thats one of the big and mighty names in power supplies.

Its their "run quieter" model line so if your gonna overclock the absolute fuck out of your comp get their other model line. Other than that you won't be able to touch that psu.

Oh and be careful with rebates ATM. A major rebate holding company just went fucksies so read up on how that rebate works and who guarantees it if possible. or you may be left holding the bag.
