I thought that most of you guys liked Fallout. They announced a teaser for fallout 3 in 31 days from now. They will also be adding new concept art each week:

The music is cool, but its too epic and not so fallouty
And NMA got their hands on a tech demo of Van Buren, the unfinished Fallout 3 project (Black Isle worked on this one). Its really buggy, but interesting for fallout fanbois nonetheless:

I can live with the music...

Them making a total cock up of, one of the best RPG's of all time i cannot. Also if it's not 18+ it's going to be really fucking softcore even if they get everything else right.

I have about 0.02% hope for this game even being 1/2 as good as the originals.

If it turns out to be oblivion in a post-apocalyptic setting with FPV im going to go jump off a cliff.

Since I haven't played the original fallout (or at least not when it was big) this will probably be fun for me!

If they don't release a US version and a Euro version so that I can set little kids on fucking fire, they fail.

Since when has a release date meant that material wasn't avalable on the internet.

the tubes are a time machine, you can find anything 2 weeks before its released on the internet.

Only when some 1337 h4x0r actually cares for the material. Doesn't seem to be the case here.

I spotted some artwork they released today, one picture shows the remains of Washington D.C.. So obviously they cut all connections to the old Fallout games. For those who don't remember: Fallout 1 & 2 took place in California.

No surprise there, just thought I could mention it.

Its not a stretch of the imagination to see a fallout game happening on another part of the continent. I mean really, its not.

Garn

I didn't mean it's a break with tradition to change the location. What I was meaning to say is that with the game taking place on the other end of the continent it's highly unlikely that the story will have any connection to the old games, like, for example, it's unlikely to meet people again you knew from the old games. At least I'd imagine that after the whole world has been nuked it might be difficult to travel a few thousand miles if you don't have a good reason to do so.

I just thought fans of the series might have been happy to see some old characters and stuff. Not that there were many characters you were able to meet in both Fallout 1 & 2 in the first place, at least I can only think of one out of the top of my head.

Dunno, it would be sad if you couldn't encounter the brotherhood of steel or the enclave in some form (although they are kinda destroyed in f2). Maybe its a prequel, too

Wasn't the countdown just to reveal the countdown to the teaser?

First Person View > Third Person View

Also... I spent a couple hours removing the QuickTime copy protect sound and creating a DivX video to upload to stage 6... only to realize the sound was two seconds behind the video after I finished.... So here's someone elses upload (three people uploaded within an hour or so of each other... including me.)

Teaser wasn't really a teaser... Doesn't show anything about the game... Is it FPS, RTS, Third person......

It would be like waiting all this time for DF not knowing if there was full loot, or PVP and shit in the game....

Yeah the teaser was balls. We only got some CG that was showing rehashed material from previous Fallout games. You have the old 50s music playing and the all the wreckage left over from that era, then a big Brotherhood of Steel looking mofo. Whoopdeedoo!

I hope the devs get eaten by Deathclaws.

The teaser was supposedly made using the in game engine. I search Wikipedia for "Fallout 3". I don't know how much I trust it though.

I'ts a teaser, not a trailer. Teasers are there to announce the game and get you interested in it. A trailer shows in-game footage. I can't think of any teaser (video-game or movie) that actually gives you details about what is happening in the movie/game.

As far as the in-game engine, it that's NOT what the game will look like when you are running around killing people. The teaser was, in fact, rendered by the game's engine, but not in real time. That is what all the cut-scenes such will look like.

Many teasers are developed by a third party with different software. That's why it's such a big deal.
