hey,

what was your best mmorpg you ever played?

The one I played for the longest time was WoW.... I enjoyed that actually but it didn't require skill which pissed me off.

Planetside was great but, you needed a massive clan to really enjoy that game which I didn't get involved with.

SWG was great except I was a freelancing architect and it was impossible to get people to buy from me.

My favorite would have to be SWG but I enjoyed WoW more. If I got more involved in a clan in SWG, I think the game would have been a lot more enjoyable.

ive been playing 1 game for about 5 years, i played RuneScape i dont know why but i just loved to hang around with my friends there i had a Dutch guild wich was ranked 2nd on the ranking list of guilds.

i had alot of funn untill i got banned twice because of offensive language, and once for password scamming wich wasnt true so i got unbanned after 1 year and they putted an permanently mute on it, so it wasnt fun any more to play if u cant chat with your friends so i quitted it.

than i started to play Last Chaos wich i played for like 2 years
i quitted that game yesterday, because i wanna get ready for this awesome game, i was also in a good guild wich was ranked 2nd or 3th, it was all about takin castles from other clans, most of the time the castle was ours but not all the time,

these where my best game/games...

QFT! Only thing that sucked was the grind, so after 2 years I switched over to private servers. More pvps but none as epic as the ones on retail.

My favorite would have to be LOTRO the PVE in that game is top notch and endgame just blows you away! Unfortunately all the PvE got me tired and i missed the PvP so now time to play this game WOOT!!!

Nothing beats some old SWG pre-CU. Ok, maybe it wasn't the best, but it was some pretty sweet roaming pvp and the best player economy i've ever seen

I was never a fan of pure pwnage. Even though Athene came later, i enjoy his internet "shows" a lot more.

I've played wow since before TBC and altho people love to bash it, they have 11 mil subscribers for a reason. It's the most stable game environment out there. It doesn't have the best PvE or PvP but it has enough content to occupy your time. And that's why I think it's the best game out there atm.

Hopefully niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger proves me wrong :)

Runescape was pretty sweet. I spent about 6 months of my life right-clicking on ore. I couldn't fight worth a damn, but I had shit tons of money.

WoW was alot of fun back in the day. I played from beta to TBC release day but the game got worse and worse. They got 11 mill subscribers because they constantly dumb down the game so that every idiot can accomplish the same things. That is why most of the day one gamers who were trying to get an edge in the game quit. The best time I had in WoW was leveling my first character after the game going live until we cleared MC as the first horde guild on our server.
It's a retards game now.

Very good points. Wotlk is a joke. But before TBC and a little bit during it was pretty fun.

People only cite tbc as the beginning of the decline of WoW because it was when Blizzard made it abundantly clear the game was about gear and that they would perpetually feed the treadmill.

Rockard
12-10-2008, 12:25 AM
I completely disagree. It has ALWAYS been about gear in WoW. We cite TBC because it was when they started dumbing down instances so that any scrub could complete them easily.

People also cite TBC because Resilience was introduced into pvp. I was actually a huge fan of resilience and I think it made the combat more balanced. By adding arenas they also made it possible to get gear and be casual.

The addition of casual gear pissed off mostly hardcore players who spent most of their time grinding things for gear, and then we see joe schmo come up and pwn them because joe schmo is actually good at video games. This causes the hardcore player who is probably less skilled to get upset.

Ah shit... hold on... I'll post something worthwhile...

Edit: Ok, I'll say WoW got much shittier when battlemasters came to cities and eliminated world PvP.

So essentially you are saying TBC started WoW's decline in that it pointedly showed that the goal of the game is acquisition of gear and that Blizzard will feed the players' addiction to gear en masse and in perpetuity?

haha, you can definitely twist what i said to mean that. But i'll contend that at least a large amount of people who play the game do it for the conquest of instances moreso than the acquisition of gear.

So your first statement was correct. I just have a different take on the "why" behind it.

World pvp was terrible... no risk... no reward (other than saying you killed someone). But once you died, you merely had to run 45 seconds back to your body with all your gear and loot intact.

WoW had no "pvp with a purpose."

Uh... RvR wasn't necessary for it to be fun, it just was. World PvP was by far the most fun kind of PvP in all of WoW history.

agree, i would like to see the game without battle grounds at all and having horde & alliance raiding capital cities instead or some shit like that

The first 3 years of EverQuest has to be my favorite. When getting killed actually made you slam your fist on the desk and cuss out your monitor. Before online maps, hacks, and before they handed you your corpse back. Back when a raid wipe in the plane of fear or sky could take a guild all weekend to get the bodies out.
The game was brutal when it first came out and now its just a grind fest to keep up on staying "flagged" for the newest zones.

You look good in high-res
You've got uber chat skills
Won't you grind quests with me - endlessly
Tanking mobs is my role
I maintain aggro
But the rogue doesn't know, he's not MT (main tank) tonight

World of Warcraft is a feeling
Who needs a social life
I can't wait to log in,
Hop on a griffin

Stockades, gnomer, SM
Won't you join me, on an instance farming run
Let me hit the vendor, free up some bag space
Once I repair, I'll be good to go

World of Warcraft is a feeling
Who needs a social life
Stratholme, Scholo, and UBRS
He just dropped my valor helm
How could I roll a 6?
Grats to my guildmate, but I can't believe this shit
This is the best game
This is the best game I've ever played
This is the greatest game
World of Warcraft you're the greatest game
World of Warcraft you're the greatest game
The best game I've ever played
Woah
I can't wait to log in
Hop on griffin
World of Warcraft, a World of Warcraft
A reality.

RuneScape without a doubt

I did indeed like it alot. If i had played it like I play games today, I would have had a much better character and not have lost my valuables due to stupidity :D But quit playing that a long time ago....

My favorite however would be one called Knight Online... bad graphics by any standards but the best PVP ive ever done. Hands down the best pvp. But... the same things gets old after enough of it so Im looking forward to a new best of niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger.
