Well the minimum req's are:
CPU: QX9775
Video: GTX280
but you will probably want better if you want to play on high settings.

That's a dangerous idea to put forth. If believed, our population will be cut in half over night.

this whole thread is just dirty. don't let them lie to you. the published specs were just
128 mB ram, integrated gfx, and a pentium 2 200 MMX.
the bitch of the whole deal is that you need to be on a T1 connection or better. that's just fucked up.

As long as I can see who I must kill, I don't really care about the high res. Is nice to have tho if your system can handle it.

I heard we need T3.
I heard it's turn-based and we have to email each other floppy disks with the latest savegame after our turn. Any infos on that?

Shit, I have 8 Mbps DSL in fucking Roswell. T1 is crap. T1 just happens to be the basis for all non-fiber high speed commercial internet going all the way up to OC3 I think, they just wrap a fuckload of them into a single pipe. DSL's on the phone lines.

How about system requirements? The alpha engine runs on a PIII 800mzh, with 256mb RAM and a Gforce 2 card. Obviously the retail version will be optimized alot, but this is a very demanding game. We are just not sure what system we should recommend just yet. Minimum internet connection? It should work with a 56k modem, but we obviously recommend DSL or Cable :)

The best memory for the i7 build is the corsair Dominator. I have been able to it 2000MHz clock on air, and completely stable.
HD 4870x2 is nice but in a way it is overkill, settle with a regular 4870 1GB or 260 and upgrade to the big card when the DX11 cards release in the summer.
SAS Hard Drives are far superior to Raptors(maybe not far, but I get a hard on from mine), but if you want to blow money on a SSD then go ahead.
