Surly, before you cancel your Vanguard Account, you should go in and change the guild message of the day for any stragglers who haven't heard the news about the refocus. I already bumped into Fhia and told him, but there are sure to be some VGers that don't check in on these forums and whatnot.
I sent out this mass in-game mail to most of the people on my friendlist, seeing as its never a bad time to plug niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger:
Hey guys,
After a lot of thought, I don't think I am going to be continuing my Vanguard subscription past the next billing cycle. Feel free to say hi to me on AIM: DCNerdess, or ICQ: 244159572 any time! If you are looking for a FPS/RTS or any other kind of multiplayer match, let me know, or swing by my guild's forums @ http://forums.AnvilSociety.com -- we are always up for something.
As far as my guild goes, most of us are pulling out of Vanguard and will be continuing with other multiplayer games, as well as testing the waters in future MMORPGs, while we wait for niggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggerniggernigger Online.
You will probably find me on the FFA server some until my subscription runs out as Brilli, and I am always looking for a partner in crime if anyone wants to come test out the FFA waters with me. =)

I have to send that, or variations of that, out to maybe a few more people when I log in tomorrow to divy up my "estate" and pass stuff out. Other than that, I just realized that I missed my last billing cycle by like 5 days, so I will still be until early April. I want to mess around a lot on the FFA server, and I encourage anyone who is still in to come join me for the mischief =) I've been having fun there, very exciting stuff!
I also want to take this opportunity to welcome all the new faces from Vanguard and their guests officially to The Society of the Anvil! We encourage ya's to stick around and get cozy wit' dem dwarfs 'ere, seein' as we gots plenty of combat exercises commin' up on thar horizon; including guild STALKER, Medieval II, SupCom, and anythin' else we dwarves kin get 'er grubby 'ands on!
If you come via IMAGE, Genocide, Luminescent Retribution, 300, FQF, or just from any Vanguard guild or as a solo Vanguarder who we have had the pleasure of working with in our time here, please make an introduction post! One of the higher-ups will swing by and give you access to our forums, where you can hook up with us to play any of the games mentioned above, and then some!
